Clare Hansen
Clare Hansen is a contributing writer and graphic artist for CoralFrags.com. She holds a B.A. from Boston University in biology with a specialization in marine science and a certificate of completion in Aquarium Science from Oregon Coast Community College.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Clare worked as a fisheries observer in Alaska and Oregon. Over 700 sea days later, she decided to pursue a long-time interest in aquarium science and enrolled in the Aquarium Science Program in Newport, OR. Following the completion of that program, Clare worked as a professional aquarist at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
Clare is now the Lead Aquarist for the Aquarium Science Program, mentoring the next generation of professional aquarists and instructing them in the fundamentals of aquatic animal husbandry and aquarium care and maintenance. She also owns and operates Penpoint Design, a small business providing graphic design and illustration, with a focus on interpretive materials.
