Derek Wilkinson
Hello everyone. My name is Derek Wilkinson and I am member of the CoralFrags.com team. I have nearly two decades of aquarium experience as a professional working on my clients’ systems and with my own personal aquariums. I have extensive experience with freshwater, brackish and saltwater fishes, as well as invertebrates, turtles, frogs and salamanders. Over the last ten years, I have spent an increasingly larger amount of time working with corals, coral propagation systems and coral reef displays.
Prior to joining CoralFrags.com, I managed an aquarium store for several years and operated an aquarium maintenance business caring for aquariums in private homes and businesses. This helped build my skills in maintaining professional tanks that operated efficiently, safely and presented a clean aquarium that was beautiful. While working at the aquarium store I was also in charge of a rescue program, where we took in aquatic animals that were either sick, too large, or unwanted. This is how my range of experience grew to its current status, and also prepared me for success working with corals and coral systems. Working with CoralFrags.com gives me the opportunity to continue to learn and care for new corals and use that knowledge to help people choose the best choice of corals to add to their display.
