Who We Are
We’re Oregonians and coralheads just like you and started off as hobbyists with freshwater tanks and then progressed to saltwater aquariums with fish and when we were ready, we started adding corals to our systems. In time, we realized that we wanted to become professional aquarists, so we earned degrees from the best Aquarium Science program in the country over on the Oregon coast in Newport. While going to school, we worked at the nearby Hatfield Marine Science Center and also at Oregon Coast Aquarium. Wanting to expand our knowledge and expertise even further, we went on to earn degrees in Aquaculture and worked at a large commercial aquaculture facility caring for invertebrates and culturing different foods to feed them. Then we returned to Oregon and began designing and building aquatic life support systems that are optimized for coral growth and health. Now, we’re working hard to be the premier online coral store in the country and we simply love growing and providing coral frags and colonies for our clients.
What You Can Expect From Us
- Quality Corals and Online Coral Frags – We spend a great deal of time carefully inspecting each coral frag in our quarantine and growout systems for coral pests like flatworms, majano, and aiptasia anemones, nudibranchs, red bugs, and other hitchhikers known to break the hearts of coralkeepers everywhere. We simply don’t tolerate them in our systems and have a vested interest in making sure that our frags don’t introduce them to our clients’ systems. If we find something we don’t like in one of our quarantine systems, we isolate it, treat it and eradicate it. These inspections continue right up to the moment a frag or colony is picked for an order. Our clients can also expect that each coral we sell is kept in a professionally maintained system with optimal water chemistry and professional-grade lighting.
- Fast Shipping – Since you’re just down the road from us, you can expect extra fast shipping but whether you’re nearby or all the way across the continent, we always take the same level of care to ensure that each order is carefully packed so that it arrives in optimal condition on each client’s doorstep. If the Willamette Valley is experiencing snow, ice, or anything that might affect the timely and safe arrival of your order, we may occasionally wait an extra day before we ship so that your order isn’t stuck in a cold warehouse somewhere.
- Reliable and Continually Updated Information – We love sharing what we know about corals, coral health, coral feeding, life support components, water chemistry, and other topics with our clients so that their coral reef displays, frag tanks, and quarantine systems are set up for success. All of the articles on our site are written by the professional aquarists on our team and we post new information on a regular basis. Want to know more about the aspects of coralkeeping?
