Montipora is one of the larger and more popular genera of SPS corals on the market today, with many species on the market and in our collection of Montipora coral frags. Many Monitpora species are good choices for reefers just getting started with keeping corals and generally do well while coralheads negotiate the often steep and unforgiving learning curve of caring for hard and soft corals in closed systems. After they fully acclimate to a new system, Monti frags grow in many different shapes, such as:

Plating
Branching
Encrusting
Columnar
Laminar
Tabling

Each Montipora species will incorporate at least one, and often, a combination of these growth types if conditions are favorable in your system. Some of the more common Montipora species available as coral frags or small colonies include:
